Good morning, afternoon or evening. I guess it depends where you are in the world when you read this.

Somewhere in the world though it is a cup of green tea time. So put the kettle on, put your feet up and have a cup, or two, of green tea. You’ll want to stimulate your brain for the video you’re about to watch.

Those of you who have followed my blog from the early days will know I’ve written two posts about green tea before. I’m not going to repeat myself here. Today I have something new for you about green tea. If you’re new to my blog you can find the other green tea posts here: Hello, I’m Back, And Green Tea and here: Green Tea Revisited

Whether you’re a new visitor or an old hand I recommend giving them a read.

Today I’m presenting a video by Wu Mountain Tea founder Dylan O’Neill Rothenberg. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the field of tea science.

In the video he talks about the latest science on the brain health benefits of green tea. Don’t worry it’s explained in a way that you’ll be able to understand. I’ve watched it a couple of times now and it’s fascinating. It’s all evidence based and shows what an amazing drink green tea is.

He talks about both the acute (short term) and chronic (long term) effects of green tea on the brain as well as a couple of other health areas. It focuses on the three compounds found in green tea: caffeine, L-theanine, and catechins. It delves into EGCG which I’ve mentioned in my two previous green tea posts as it is very beneficial in the fight against cancer.

The video is just under twenty minutes long, so it’s a doable watch. Hopefully it will inspire you to drink a few cups a day as it is extremely good for your health. I will point out when it comes to green tea that the better the quality the more beneficial it is. So I would recommend loose leaf and a tea pot, or infuser, rather than a tea bag. Either way, something is better than nothing. Not to mention there are many different types of green tea so I’m sure you can find one that you’ll enjoy. Just experiment. That’s what I did and now I have my favourites.

Anyway without further ado here’s the video. Enjoy.

Love & green tea, Jon
